I just received my B.A. in Broadcast Journalism as well as Advertising and Public Relations from Duquesne University in May. The courses at Duquesne have provided me with a great deal of practical experience. Central to that experience has been the production of numerous news and feature packages for our campus television station, DUQ-TV. I have also been involved with many other projects in our journalism department.

My internship with WTAE-TV here in Pittsburgh served as an amazing transition from the education environment into the professional world. I learned what it is like to operate in a newsroom and have gained real world experience. While at WTAE, I had a chance to polish my newsgathering skills out in the field. I think my tape will speak for itself.

My broadcast journalism career path began in the ninth grade when I decided that I wanted to be a journalist. I have not wavered from that goal ever since. In high school I took advantage of every television production class that was offered, eventually culminating in winning a TVT award for my work. My passion for this type of work is intense. My work ethic and creativity will prove that.

My experience includes shooting and editing this work. I can operate as a one man band reporter. I can produce high quality news stories. My internship made me appreciate the amount of hard work that goes into this career. When I get a position as a news reporter I will give it 100%.
